A Johannesburg metro police officer has been arrested for allegedly shooting dead his girlfriend and her male friend in Soweto.
Metro police spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Wayne Minnaar, says the 30-year-old allegedly used his service pistol to kidnap the woman from her friend's car this weekend.
The girlfriend's mother, with the male friend, went to the officer's home in Bramfischerville, Soweto, where a fight broke out and the two were shot dead.
A five-year-old boy, who lived across the road, was shot in the leg.
