A convicted rapist who escaped from a medical facility in Gauteng last week allegedly raped another woman within hours of his escape.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo says the man is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence for a rape he committed last year.
He says while police launched a search for the 33-year-old convict, officers received information about a woman who reported being raped at the Henley on Klip train station in Meyerton.
Lt Col Masondo says when they interviewed the victim she described the convict they were looking for.
He says the suspect was arrested within hours and will now face additional charges.
