New vehicle sales ended 2012 on a positive note with aggregate industry new vehicle sales for December at 46 016 units.
This was 1.8% up on the corresponding month the previous year.

Export sales of 19 719 units for December reflected a significant improvement of 39.2% on the number of vehicles exported during December, 2011.
Industry aggregate sales for the 2012 calendar year at 623 914 units improved by 52 499 vehicles or 9.2% compared to the total new vehicles sold in South Africa in 2011.
