Cocaine covered in chocolate wrappers discovered at Cape Town International Airport

Cocaine covered in chocolate wrappers

SAPS

A 37-year-old man is in police custody after cocaine wrapped in chocolate wrappings was confiscated in his luggage.

Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi says members of the Provincial Organised Crime Narcotics unit in Cape Town followed up on information at the International Airport on Tuesday.

He says members observed several passengers embarking on an international flight from Dubai shortly before midday and subsequently discovered 4 kg of cocaine wrapped in chocolate wrappings in the luggage of one of the passengers.

The suspect, once charged, will make a court appearance in the Belville Magistrates Court soon.
