The decision by the City of Cape Town to lift water restrictions that were in place for several years, has been welcomed by the province's Local Government Ministry.
From 1 November 2020, there will no longer be water restrictions in the Mother City as the dams serving the Metro are 100% full.
The decision was reached on Tuesday, October 20 when the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee unanimously supported the City’s decision to lift water restrictions in Cape Town and to move to the lowest tariff, being the no restriction, water-wise tariff.
Ministry spokesperson, James Brent-Styan, says the lifting of restrictions, will be accompanied by tariff adjustments.
