The bus driver involved in the accident that claimed the lives of two pupils in Vryheid in northern KZN on Monday is spending the weekend behind bars.
At least 48 people were injured after the bus transporting them from school overturned on the R618.
The driver allegedly fled the scene after the accident.
Two pupils were declared dead at the scene while the injured were transported to hospital.
Provincial police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda says the 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged with culpable homicide.
