Two men have been arrested for trying to get a Kruger National Park ranger to kill and de-horn a rhino.

Limpopo police said on Monday that the men were arrested in a subsequent sting operation after the ranger agreed to do the job, but instead contacted the police.

Police spokesperson, colonel Ronel Otto, said police seized a hunting rifle and confiscated a vehicle during yesterday's arrest.

One of the suspects was also assaulted by members of a local community after trying to flee from police.

They will both appear in court soon.
