The two men accused of killing young farm manager, Brendin Horner, in Paul Roux last year have been granted bail of R5 000 each.
This follows after the long-awaited DNA results in the murder case did not match the blood found on the clothes of the suspects.
The 44-year-old Sekwetja Mahlamba and 32-year-old Sekola Matlaletsa were granted bail in the Senekal Magistrate's court in the Free State on Tuesday, based on these new facts.
The matter against the two has now been transferred to the Circuit High Court sitting in Bethlehem, where a pre-trial will start on the 23rd of August.
The two face charges of robbery, murder and stock theft following the murder of Horner in October 2020.
The 21-year-old Brendin Horner's body was found in October last year, tied up to a pole with a rope around his neck.
Horner was strangled to death and stabbed several times.
The accused both pleaded not guilty and maintained that the blood found on their clothes were from an animal that they had slaughtered.
