A female Bloemfontein after-care teacher is in custody for allegedly raping a 13-year-old boy from the Brandwag Primary School.
Free State police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, said that the 28-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday.
He said it's alleged that the rape occurred at the woman's flat last Friday.
The matter is being investigated by the province's Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
According to reports, the teacher was suspended by the Free State Education Department.
Makhele said she will appear in court on Thursday.
