The ad-hoc committee of the National Council of Provinces moves to the Free State this week to conduct public hearings on the Protection of State Information Bill.
The committee completed a series of hearings in the Eastern Cape last week and the Western Cape the week before.
Committee chairperson, Raseriti Tau, says the hearings provide an opportunity to the Free State public to comment and provide input on the Bill.
The Bill was passed in the National Assembly last year despite widespread opposition because of a lack of a public interest clause to protect whistle-blowers.
It could still face a constitutional court challenge if passed in its current form.
