Suspended police commissioner Bheki Cele has told the Board of Inquiry into his fitness to hold office, that he had trusted too many people working for him.
The board of inquiry was established by president Jacob Zuma after the Public Protector found that police lease agreements for two buildings signed by Cele, were unlawful.
Speaking on the second day of the inquiry today, Cele, who has since been suspended, said that he had trusted his head of procurement Hamilton Hlela to follow the right procedures with respect to tenders for new police buildings.
