Beloved Afrikaans actor succumbs to Covid-19

Tributes have been pouring in for the South African actor Ben Kruger who died on Tuesday, reportedly from Covid-19.

The 64-year-old Kruger who was born in Bothaville in the Free State is best known for his role in Skooldae, Sewende Laan and Binnelanders.

He also starred as a school headmaster in the Afrikaans film Poena is Koning.

According to Netwerk 24, Kruger died in his home in Brooklyn, Pretoria.
