The Young Communist League says government must ban the tender system in order to prevent corruption.
It says in a statement it believes that the shortage of medicine, textbooks, education and health infrastructure and many other state shortfalls are as a result of the tender system.
The league says it is prepared for the SA Communist Party's 13th national congress next week, where it will push for strengthening the SACP's leadership capacity by proposing that three deputy general secretaries be appointed.
