A 13 month old baby became the lastest victim of looting and violence in Gauteng townships, after the child was trampled by a mob of stampeding looters in Kagiso on the West Rand .
This brings the number of deaths in the looting and violence since Monday last week to four.
Police say looters who were robbing a spaza shop, allegedly scattered when police arrived at the scene.
He says the mob ran into a young mother who was carrying the child.
The baby was certified dead at the scene.
A case of murder is under investigation.
Makgale says twenty-four people were arrested in Kagiso on Friday night, following violence and looting of foreign owned shops.
