Gauteng Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi has confirmed that police have obtained CCTV footage on the premises of Hoërskool Garsfontein as part of the investigation into the death of Grade 10 learner Mia Kühn.
A security officer at the school had discovered her body on the school’s rugby field on Tuesday morning.
Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane told the media at the time that it was unclear exactly how the teenager gained access to the school premises, as it was winter holiday and the school was closed.
According to Kühn's mother, Mia was still at home at midnight when they went to sleep.
In an update on Friday, Nevhuhulwi said police are in possession of the CCTV footage, but that no further information can be revealed at this stage.
He also confirmed that the autopsy had been completed but that a report from the doctor remains outstanding.
