Athletics star shoots girlfriend by accident

Paralympian athlete Oscar Pistorius has allegedly accidentally shot his girlfriend at his house in Pretoria.

Beeld reports on its website that he allegedly mistook her for a robber.

Police spokeswoman Captain Sarah Mcira confirmed that she was shot in the arm and head at 4am on Thursday morning.
She died on the scene.
