Swift reaction by police led to the arrest of seven armed robbery suspects in Welkom in the Free State.
The arrests were made following a bank robbery in the town on Friday morning.
A SAPS spokesperson said that the arrests and seizure of the stolen cash was "an indication that we are turning the tide against crime".
Free State Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major-General Solly Lesia, praised the members involved.
The suspects will appear in court soon.
