The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa says six people have been arrested for the torching of trains during last week's strike by members of the SA Transport and Allied Workers Union.
Prasa also says that contrary to statements by Satawu, four of the six arrested are union members while two others are former Metrorail employees.
The Agency says they were also Satawu members at the time of their dismissal.
Prasa says today's arrest is part of the ongoing investigation into the criminal activities that saw the vandalising of safety critical equipment and torching of trains.
