A soldier injured on deployment to the Central African Republic has died in hospital.
Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga says the soldier died in Bloemfontein on Monday.
He was discharged from 1 Military hospital on the 19th of April and returned home to Bloemfontein.
He collapsed on Monday and was rushed to hospital where he died a short while later.
The cause of death is unknown and will only be available once a post mortem has been completed.
Thirteen SANDF soldiers were killed on the 23rd of March when rebel fighters attacked them near the C.A.R's capital Bangui. Another 27 were wounded.
