Another parole application by one of Waterkloof Four

One of the so-called Waterkloof Four, Frikkie du Preez, has lodged an urgent application to be released on parole again.

Du Preez's lawyers made the application in the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday.

This came after Du Preez and Christoff Becker's parole was revoked when a video emerged of the pair allegedly drinking alcohol
and using a cellphone at the Pretoria Central Prison.

The Waterkloof Four -Du Preez, Becker, Gert van Schalkwyk and Reinach Tiedt -were released on bail on the 11th of February after being
jailed for beating a homeless man to death in Pretoria in 2001.

Becker and Du Preez were sent back to prison on the 28th of February after the video went viral and caught the attention of correctional services officials.

Becker recently made a similar application to have his parole reinstated but the court argued that it was not an urgent matter.

Judge Eberhard Bertelsmann will hand down judgment on Du Preez' application on Thursday.
