The ANC will be turning up the music when it launches an election music album on Friday.
Acting spokesperson, Zizi Kodwa, said that the album will feature different music genres, from kwaito to jazz, hip-hop, and gospel.
"It is important to do so as part of mobilisation but also as part of popular culture," he said.
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to rub shoulders with the country's musicians who contributed to the album when it is officially launched at the music venue, Baseline in Melville, Johannesburg.
"'The release of the ANC's album will be a fan fest that will connect supporters and the members of society through inspiring music, song, and dance. The album resonates with the ANC's struggle for liberation and it dabbles with different music genres from jazz to igwijo [Xhosa traditional music],'' an ANC statement said.
