The ANC says it will support the new Cabinet members announced on Tuesday by President Jacob Zuma.
In his fourth cabinet shuffle since 2009, Zuma axed Communications Minister Dina Pule as well as Tokyo Sexwale and Richard Baloyi from their posts as Ministers of Human Settlements and Cooperative Governance respectively.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ruling party said it welcomed the initiatives taken by the president to strengthen the functioning and capacity of government.
Meanwhile, DA parliamentary leader, Lindiwe Mazibuko, says the cabinet shuffle should have been an opportunity for Zuma to stamp out poor governance by replacing all poor performing Ministers with competent and dedicated individuals.
She said instead Zuma seemed determined to keep in the executive Ministers who should have got the sack some time ago.
