The ANC has registered its strong objection to the emergence of sex shop in front of parliament.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, ANC Chief Whip, Stone Sizani, said the same store, Adult World, attempted to open in 2004 but was closed following strong objections.
He says the opening of such store within the vicinity of the Houses of Parliament does not auger well for the integrity and standing of such a constitutional body.
Sizani says the ANC caucus will request parliament to seek legal opinion, adding that the City of Cape Town should also explain the decision to permit such a business next to parliament.
