The Gauteng High Court sitting in Palm Ridge has sentenced two men and two women to prison terms ranging from 5 years to 10 years for kidnapping and attempted extortion.
This follows the highly-publicised kidnapping of 6-year-old Amy-Leigh de Jager from outside College Park Primary School in Vanderbijlpark on the 2nd of September last year.
The 27-year-old Tharina Human, who is believed to have been the mastermind behind the kidnapping and was a Grade RR teacher at the school at the time, received a ten-year jail sentence.
The 40-year-old Laetitia Nel, whose car was used in the kidnapping, was jailed for five years.
She was the only one of the four accused who was out on bail.
Their two male accomplices Pieter Jacobus Van Zyl and Bafokeng Molemohi, who is Lesotho National, were sentenced to 8 and 7 years imprisonment respectively.
The accused took a plea agreement with the State.
