The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry says its on track with the allocation process of fishing rights.
Department spokesperson, Carol Moses says the consultative process is in full swing and has officially commenced last week, as the Draft Revised General Policy on the Allocations and Management of Fishing Rights was released, and a meeting held with representatives from the fishing sector.
She says consultation meetings will take place from 17 to 20 April in Port St Johns, East London, Port Elizabeth, Jeffreys Bay and Mossel Bay.
