A suspected armed robber, believed to be in his 40's has been shot dead and another injured as they tried to escape the scene of an alleged home invasion in Rustenburg.
A Spokesperson for ER24 Ross Campbell says the incident happened in the suburb of Zinniaville on Tuesday afternoon.
He says when paramedics arrived on the scene just after 2 pm they tended to a seriously injured suspect who was lying below a wall he'd allegedly scaled while being chased by members of the public.
Campbell says it was at this time that his alleged accomplice was shot and killed whilst running through a nearby graveyard.
Paramedics immediately assessed the man and declared him dead on the scene.
The injured man was treated and escorted to a nearby hospital.
It is believed that two other men, believed to be involved in the crime, fled the scene.
The matter is now being investigated by the South African Police.
