Two suspects are expected to appear in the Nelspruit Magistrates Court on Friday following their arrest for transporting rhino horns with an estimated value of R2.6 million.
The 48-year-old Schalk Steyn and 53-year-old Johannes Groenewald have been in custody since Wednesday and are expected to apply for bail.
Colonel Katlego Mogale of the Hawks says they were arrested in Mbombela while transporting 19 rhino horns in two vehicles.
They face charges of illegal possession and selling of rhino horns and their vehicles were also impounded for further investigation.
