An alleged drug dealer is expected to make his first court appearance in the Verulam Magistrates Court in Durban on Wednesday after drugs with an estimated street value of R1 million were found in his possession.
The 54-year-old man was arrested in Umhlanga on Tuesday.
Police received information about a suspect who was dealing in drugs and following an intense investigation, they unexpectedly pounced on his premises and conducted a search.
Members confiscated 15 136 heroin tablets, 2.6kg of heroin powder, 2 669 mandrax tablets and thousands of empty capsules.
Team members from the Forensic Science Laboratory were immediately summoned to the scene and the suspect was subsequently arrested.
