An ABSA Bank official from the Waterval Township in the Limpopo Province appeared in the local Magistrates' Court on Monday for allegedly stealing R25 million from accounts belonging to the Provincial Government.
The 27-year-old Fhatuwani Sidwell Mudzanani, who was a consultant at Elim, deposited these amounts into different bank accounts linked to him.
A spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority in Limpopo Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi says Mudzanani was arrested at the Bank on Friday.
During the arrest, his house was searched where police confiscated four ABSA ATM cards and confiscated a cash amount of R2 030.
He will remain in custody until his next court appearance on the 27th of July when he is expected to apply for bail.
