The Leader for the Freedom Front Plus in the Limpopo Legislature is in hot water after allegedly using the K-word in a casual conversation which was caught on a cell phone camera.

Marcelle Maritz can be heard talking about the APK Church (Afrikaans Protestant Church/Kerk) where she refers to it as being a church without "K's."

The Leader for the Freedom Front Plus in the Limpopo Legislature is in hot water after allegedly using the K-word in a casual conversation which was caught on a cell phone camera. Marcelle Maritz has denied the allegation.

The DA will on Thursday lay a charge of crimen injuria at a local police station and have already asked the Limpopo Legislature's Ethics Committee to investigate the matter.

The DA's member of the NCOP Beyers Smith described the incident as horrific adding that it was appalling that she would also place such an indictment on the Church.

Maritz will also be reported to the South African Human rights Commission.

The leader of the Freedom Front Plus Doctor Pieter Groenewald says they were only made aware of the video on Wednesday.

He says the video was filmed five years ago when Maritz was still a councillor for the DA.

Maritz has denied the allegations.

Groenewald says they are against any form of racism and will investigate the matter before taking the necessary steps.

Algoa FM News approached the DA with the allegation that the video was taken during the time Maritz was a member of their party, however, Smith claims that they have digital evidence that the footage was taken in 2017.
