Three people were killed, and two others critically injured, after a car overturned on the Beyers Naude Drive Bridge over the N14 in Muldersdrift, north west of Johannesburg.
Netcare 911's Jeffrey Wicks says the driver apparently lost control of the car, which overturned and rolled repeatedly on the bridge on Saturday evening.
He says a critically injured man was stabilised by paramedics, and airlifted to hospital.
Meanwhile, a man was killed, and three people were injured , after a minibus taxi collided head-on with a car at the Carousel Toll Plaza, near Pretoria.
Wicks says the taxi driver lost control of his vehicle, and crashed into the car in the on-coming lane.
He says the driver of the car died at the scene.
Wicks says his wife, along with the taxi driver and his passenger were rushed to a nearby hospital.
