Fourteen people have been killed in two separate horror accidents on the country's roads.

Seven people were killed and 17 others seriously injured when a mini-bus taxi collided with a truck outside Kroonstad in the Free State on Tuesday night

Netcare 911 says six people died on the scene while another person died on the way to hospital.

Meanwhile, seven people were killed when a taxi driver lost control of his vehicle on the R-61 between Aberdeen and Beaufort West early this morning.

He says six people were admitted to hospital with minor injuries.
