#Looting: Clicks closes 279 stores

The Pharmacy retailer Clicks has closed every single one of their 110 stores in KwaZulu Natal, including 130 branches in Gauteng.

This follows the violent looting and protesting in both provinces that made headlines across the globe.

Clicks has strongly condemned the vandalism and looting at their stores which left an additional 52 shops damaged.

The retailer who has played an important part in the nation's vaccine roll-out also had to close 106 vaccination sites.

The disruption of services means affected Clicks stores will be temporarily unable to administer vaccinations and provide medication to customers.

Clicks says contingency plans are being put in place to provide alternative arrangements for delivery of chronic medication and rescheduling of vaccinations, where possible.

The cost of the looting and damages to stores is still to be determined given the ongoing unrest.
