Motorists are facing yet another massive fuel price hike of well above R1 per litre in March.
The Automobile Association (AA) was commenting on mid-month fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund on Friday.
It says the data is showing an increase of R1.25 a litre for petrol, R1.29 for diesel and a significant increase of R1.22 per litre for illuminating paraffin.
The AA says international petroleum prices are contributing entirely to the expected price hikes with the stronger Rand buffering what would have been more steep increases.
It says given the current outlook, petrol prices in South Africa will skyrocket above R21 per litre for the first time.
