5 Tips to help you prepare for a music festival

Article written by Jade Rhode

Festival season is upon us. To properly enjoy the event and let your hair down, avoid all the hustle and bustle that usually occurs on the day by planning and preparing for the enjoyable occasion beforehand.

Below are a few tips on how to prepare yourself for a music festival.

1. Choose suitable bags

According to Eagle Creek – a website that takes pride in equipping people with versatile gear – you should keep the destination in mind when choosing travel bags. Avoid large, heavy suitcases with wheels that might get stuck in the muddy camping grounds.

2. Bring drinks and lots of water

Travel and Destinations – a website focused on travel – stresses the importance of consuming water while at a music festival. “It’s easy to forget to drink water when you’re having fun. If it’s very hot and you’re walking around a lot, you might quickly become dehydrated.” While alcohol is the drink of choice at festivals, it is important to remember to keep up your fluid intake with water too.

3. Pack in hand sanitiser and wet wipes

To maintain hygiene, pack a bottle of hand sanitiser to use after going to the public toilets. The communal showers offered at music festivals can also be a bit off-putting. Whip out the wet wipes if you feel that you will not be comfortable using the facilities, suggests Travel and Destinations.

4. Consider the weather

Packing in items, such as an umbrella, will help you through rain and sunshine. “Consider easy-to-store, lightweight umbrellas that come with a pouch that makes it easy to tuck away in your day pack when skies are sunny,” notes Eagle Creek.

5. Take toilet paper

Something that cannot be forgotten is rolls of toilet paper. Avoid the possibility of walking up to a portable toilet that has absolutely no toilet paper in sight. “As well as a big roll of toilet paper, you might want to have some smaller packs of tissues in your day bag as a backup for any emergencies whilst out during the day,” shares Travel and Destinations.
