In a year when YouTube hit 48 hours of content uploaded every minute, viewers in South Africa couldn’t get enough of ‘Buck Norris’, Nando’s ‘Last Dictator Standing’ and Ard Matthews’ blundering national anthem.

The most-watched YouTube videos of 2011 reflect the people, places and events that captured our attention and imagination throughout the year.

“The 10 most-watched YouTube videos of 2011 show that around the world, whatever language we speak, there are certain things that bring us all together around a computer screen or mobile phone – adorable babies, talented performers, and clever advertising,” said YouTube Trends Manager, Kevin Allocca.
