Mike's island adventures

Mike's mind (and tummy) were full of the memories of a good trip to Oregon as our travel loving celebrity microphone took the series of flights back to Portland Maine on Southwest airlines.

This time he took the scenic route with the bigger Casco Bay ferry which stops off at all the islands in the area as the Captain shares interesting facts and stories about the area via the intercom system. It's a 90 minute trip and the coffees Mike had ordered on the last flight made it necessary for him to visit the small porcelain 'island' on the boat.

Once he got back to Chebeague Island he wanted to make the most of his last couple of days, so he borrowed a bicycle from an islander named Jacob and hit the road. Mike had heard that Chebeague's one police officer wasn't on the island at the time, so he didn't worry too much about the speed limit. 

He was enjoying being active so much, he even dragged Roland along for some minor rock climbing but couldn't convince his radio colleague to climb trees with him. (In Roland's defence, Mike was climbing a bit high for comfort)

The outdoor action came to an end with a ferry trip back to the mainland as Mike reflected on the friendly people and beautiful surroundings in this part of Maine.

The rest of the day was spent on travel again as Mike headed South to the warmer climate of Florida. He arrived in West Palm Beach - where movies like Ace Ventura and 2 Fast 2 Furious were filmed - tired but excited for what lay ahead. As he relaxed at his hotel, he started daydreaming about his visit to Universal Studios.
