The West Indies qualified for the Super Eight section of the ICC World Twenty20 on Monday after their match against Ireland ended as a no-result after heavy rain at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Ireland posted 129/6 after the match had been reduced to 19-overs per side after a rain delay during their innings.
However, the rain returned during the dinner break and no further play was possible.
The West Indies and Ireland had both lost their respective opening matches of the tournament, against Australia, but West Indies went through to the next stage of the competition due to their superior net run-rate.
The final group match before the super eights takes place on Tuesday with Bangladesh playing Pakistan - Bangladesh needing a huge win to qualify because of their inferior run rate.
Meanwhile: World Twenty20 organisers have changed the bottled water supplier and called in food inspectors to check the spread of a suspected gastro virus at the tournament.
Several players from New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa and Australia have reportedly been treated for stomach bugs since their arrival in Sri Lanka, with Kiwi Tim Southee even requiring hospital treatment for dehydration.
