Cricket Eastern Cape (Pty) Ltd announced their contracted squad for the 2012/2013 season. 4 new players have been contracted - 3 of the 4 being players that hail from the Eastern Cape region.
Simon Harmer has had an incredible season for both the EP and Warriors last season. He took a total of 63 wickets across all formats of the game. Young Colin Ackermann made his debut for the Warriors in the 2011/2012 season and has a bright future ahead of him.
Two players from South Western Districts, Gurshwin Rabie and Christiaan Jonker have also been contracted. In his first match for the Warriors last season Rabie took 8 wickets in a Supersport match against the Knights. In the CSA Provincial 3 day Competition Rabie is second on the log of top wicket takers. Christiaan Jonker is a fiery top order batsman who made an impressive 1189 runs last season and tops the runs leader board in the 3 Day Provincial Competition.
