Eighteen-year-old Bayanda Walaza continued South Africa's Olympic Games momentum by becoming the fastest 100m sprinter at the World during the World Under 20 Championships underway in Lima, Peru.
Early on Thursday morning, the teen, dubbed the country's last born, claimed gold in the 100m sprints in a time of 10.19.
Meanwhile, another South African Bradley Nkoana claimed the bronze medal, hot on the heels of his teammate.
Among the congratulatory messages that have been streaming in for the South African pair, the uMkhonto Wesizwe Youth League, also wished the pair well.
"We as the Mk Party Youth League congratulate the duo and are tremendously proud of them as they continue to fly the South African flag high," the message reads.
"We wish them the best in the remainder of the championship and hope they continue electrifying the world by collecting medals like Thanos did with the infinity stones."
