And its snuck up on us again - the annual tuna classic gets underway at shark rock pier in Port Elizabeth at seven o'clock on Wednesday morning with the traditional blessing of the fleet and spectacular mass start.
There are 25 deep sea boats and more than 100 anglers from all over the country competing in the 2012 edition.
The weigh-in takes place at the PE Deep Sea Angling club in the harbour from 4pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Saturday is the final day with the weigh-in and prize giving from 2pm.
Last minute entries will be accepted at registration at Pedsac at six o'clock on Tuesay evening.
