Third victory for Wales over Ireland

Wales recorded their third successive victory over Ireland yesterday with a last-minute penalty by Leigh Halfpenny giving them a 23-21 victory in their Six Nations opener in Dublin.

The Welsh scored three tries to the hosts two with centre Jonathan Davies getting two of them while Irish wing Tommy Bowe brought up a century of test points with his 20th try.

Ireland will be very disappointed though, after leading 21-15 with just over five minutes left on the clock.

In Saturday's matches, England beat Scotland 13-6 in Edinburgh and France beat Italy 30-12 in Paris.

Here at home, the Southern Kings put up a spirited display in going down 16-12 to the Blue Bulls in a pre-season friendly at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium.

In fact, Kings captain Luke Watson's try in the second half were the only points of the second stanza.
