A number of options for Vodacom Super Rugby participation in 2013 were discussed by a meeting of South Africa's franchises and South African Rugby Union leadership in Johannesburg on Monday.
SARU CEO, Jurie Roux, said it was a very positive meeting and that SARU now had a number of options for participation on which the franchises are agreed.
He did not reveal much more, but said the options would go to the Exco for consideration and ultimately to the General Council for a decision.
The next meeting of the SARU General Council is scheduled to take place on the 13th of July.
At issue is six franchises vying for five slots in Super Rugby - now that the Southern Kings have been guaranteed participation from next year.
