PERTH, November 4 (ANA) â Proteas bowler Dale Steyn is in hospital having scans after injuring his right shoulder on day two of the first Test against Australia at the WACA in Perth on Friday.
Steyn had just picked up the first wicket of the innings with the scalp of Aussie opener David Warner for 97. The next over, Steyn was able to bowl just two deliveries before he pulled up with the shoulder problem.
The 33-year-old has been plagued by injury in the last 18 months, being sidelined by a groin injury and the same problematic right shoulder.
Steyn has 417 Test wickets at a phenomenal average of 22 from 85 matches, and lies just four wickets behind SAâs leading wicket-taker Shaun Pollock in the format. â African News Agency (ANA)
