Pacemen Thisara Perera and Angelo Mathews each bagged three wickets as Sri Lanka dismissed India for 138.
Perera finished with 3 for 19 and Mathews with 3 for 14 as Sri Lanka levelled the five match series at a win a piece.
Sri Lanka reached 139 for 1 with 30 overs to spare.
Upul Tharanga was unbeaten on 59...and Tillakaratne Dilshan made 50.
