Spectacular start for Tuna classic

25 deep sea angling boats are heading to the fishing grounds off Cape Recife after taking part in the traditional blessing of the fleet and mass start of the tuna classic at seven o'clock on Wednesday morning.

All the action took place off shark rock pier on the opening day of the annual tuna classic which has attracted a 100 of South Africa's top anglers from around the country.

The tuna classic runs through to Saturday and first-day weigh in is at Pedsac in the PE harbour from four o'clock on Wednesday afternoon.
