There was a big shock at the National Club cricket championships in Pretoria on Tuesday when the defending champion Mecer NMMU Madibaz were beaten by the University of the Western Cape.
The PE students won the toss and sent the opposition in to bat and they could only make a paltry 125 / 8 in their 50 overs.
However, it all went pear shaped from there and the Madibaz succumbed to an accurate bowling attack and collapsed to 106 in 40 overs.
The Madibaz now have their work cut out to reach the finals and play the Central University of Technology in a must win game today.
