Team South Africa have congratulated Liverpool on hosting a very successful tournament and said that they were looking forward to picking up the mantle as the next hosts of the Netball World Cup in 2023.
In a media briefing hosted by Team South Africa on Friday, Team South Africa showcased Cape Town as the next Netball World Cup host city in 2023.
Netball South Africa President, Cecilia Molokwane said the 2023 World Cup was not only for Cape Town, the Western Cape and South Africa but for Africa as a whole.
During the medal ceremony at the packed M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on Sunday, South Africa's Karen Pretorius was honoured as Player of the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup.
It was a bitter/sweet moment for East London-born Pretorius after the SPAR Proteas fell agonizingly short of a podium bronze medal finish by losing the 3rd place playoff 42-58 to England.
New Zealand's Silver Ferns were crowned the 2019 World Cup Champions when they upset arch-rivals and defending champions Australia 52-51.
