JOHANNESBURG June 3 (ANA) – Despite Bafana Bafana moving up two places to 68th in the FIFA World Rankings, South Africa is still nowhere near being ranked inside the top 10 on the African continent.
Bafana, however, remains 15th in Africa – a far cry from the SA Football Association’s aim of holding a place among the top three sides on the continent.
South Africa also find themselves in a precarious position in their AFCON 2017 qualifying group. Bafana have just three points from four games for third place in the group, five points behind Cameroon with two rounds of games remaining.
Bafana next take on hosts Gambia on Saturday in Bouake in their penultimate Afcon 2017 group game on Saturday.
