The South Africa women’s hockey team was shaded 2-1 by Belgium in the first Test of the four-Test series in Cape Town last night. Belgium led 1-0 at the break.
They extended their lead shortly after half-time.
Striker Lillian du Plessis got one back for South Africa but the equaliser proved elusive.
The second test is at Vygieskraal in the Western Cape tomorrow evening.
